Fan above oven blows hot air, burns your face

We replaced a smaller and older Bosch wall oven combo with this unit after the microwave failed. Unfortunately there is a powerful fan above the oven that blows the hot air from the oven right into your face when you open it. We have been burned multiple times. I called Bosch customer support and they sent a technician to our house to see if there was something wrong. He said that there was nothing wrong and that the fan is supposed to blow air like that. Hard to believe! Our older Bosch oven blew air out of the bottom, so this wasn't an issue. This seems like a serious design flaw. We will be looking into returning the oven because it is just too hard to cook with this unit.

Our Bosh appliances are the best we ever had in all the years of owning our home . We did some research on Bosh and all the specs , features and look and style made our decisions ! We purchased Bosh appliances for our entire kitchen. They look as there builtins with out the built in prices. With our WiFi oven this makes it so convenient for heating and cooking. I can everything just from my phone .. no matter where I am ! The control panels are very simple and easy to do all your cooking needs . The engineers thought of everything plus customer comments are all taking into discussion making. Now need for extra appliances like air fryer, tosters etc because this oven has all those features plus the convection cooking . You can be a rookie to a 5 star chief and this oven will fill all you needs . Baking, broil , frozen to pizza plus more fantastic options! The service is second to none .... I had and minor issue I called service next day I had a service Tec and all resolved with professional services in no time . They kept us well informed throughout the whole process. I will never buy any other appliances name brand !!!

The unit is taller than many brands, so once installed, one is somewhat captive to Bosch or Thermadore units if replacement is required. That said, we are happy with the aesthetics functionality. A recommendation would be to make the chime that indicates the microwave has completed cooking much louder -can't be heard even if 5 feet away. Beyond that, other than much higher pricing than some competitors, it is a very nice unit.

We've owned this oven/microwave combo for 5 years. They've been absolutely problem free with exception of fluid getting between inner/outer oven window. Replacement window very inexpensive and not that difficult to install.

Microwave just quit working 3 years after installed in our new home. Just went out again 3 years later! I would expect a Bosch appliance to last longer than this! Also, Bosch wants to charge $180 to come out and $25/6 mins for just labor?? This is a joke. Don't buy the 800 series!

Based on my wife's brother's experience with Bosch appliances, we replaced all of our appliences with Boasch. This includes S800 Electric wall ovens, S500 36" Induction Cooktop, B36CD Refrigerator and SHP78 Pocket Dishwasher. The styling is elegant and the performance is efficient and quiet. We could not be more pleased!

The main oven door was a bit askew. The microwave did not work at all. The repair guy came and said he would order parts. Two months later, nothing has happened and nobody knows when the parts may arrive. Not good. I wouldn't expect this from a no-name brand, let alone one as pricey and lauded as Bosch. Very unhappy.

I have waited my entire adult life to have a "grown up kitchen" with a double oven, and this is absolutely perfect. I am an avid home chef and professional baker, and love the precision, fuctionality, ease and gorgeous look of by Bosch combo oven! I can't say enough about it - I use it everyday (whether defrosting, re-heating, etc. on top and roasting, baking, broiling, etc. on the bottom). LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

We furnished our entire kitchen with Bosch Appliances based on their reputation for quality and performance. Our only complaint and disappointment is the oven. When baking items in the oven the food on the right side of the oven is overcooked or burnt while the food on the left side is undercooked. This is very obvious when cooking bacon on a tray. The right side is burnt and the left side is under cooked. We have had certified Bosch Technicians on at least three occasions while still under warranty attempt to resolve this issue with no success. Each time we were told that this is normal. We asked if the oven had a right and left heating element and that possibly one could be causing the problem. Each time we were told that there was only one element and it was operating normally. We now avoid using the oven to bake, but when we do, we have to open the oven and rotate the tray to prevent what's on the right side from burning. Not what we expected from a Bosch Oven or Bosch warranty. I will never get my wife to consider another Bosch Oven. Needless to say we are surprised and disappointed. We have also called Bosch Customer Service with minimal concern and no satisfaction.

The unit is very nice, however, the product was delivered with a dent in the microwave door. Our contractor refuses to make this right. I need to price a new microwave door and have it replaced. Our attorney will deal with the Contractor. Thank you for your help. Our Bosch products are registered.

After an initial hiccup of the speed oven's display not working, the ovens are working beautifully. I appreciate all the cooking options. One thing that is missing is a general speed oven setting -- this function only works with presets.

I purchased a version of this oven in 2015 and now see the issues I have experienced with my microwave are similar to other reviews. The display was weak and hard to read after 1 year. I was told it was a known problem. The display was replaced by my home warranty. Within a year it was weak again but I learned to live with it. In April the door sensor switch went out and was replaced. Now 7 months later the sensor/swith is out again. I would expect an oven combo that cost over $4,000 to last 10 years but it looks like I will be buying a new one. I wanted to buy the new Bosch, but unfortunately based on the reviews I will not be buying a Bosch.

These ovens are terrific: Roomy, shelves that slide easily, easy to clean, perfect temperature maintenance and retention...they have it all and they look great! Best of all, I don't have to bend myself in half to remove a 20-pound turkey! (The height of the oven is crucial to this feature.) I just wish both clocks didn't have to be separately set!

Looks great, the speed oven functions really well. Oven takes a little while to warm up but yiu can start it from your phone so that saves some time. Overall would definitely recommend it.

It is everything you need! The microwave is more than just that it can speed cook act as a second oven and also function as a microwave. The oven us huge with 3 racks, one of whoch extends out. Dream combo for sure!

I love the oven and being able to control it with my cell phone. The only thing I don't like about this unit is that the microwave can't be controlled and the door can't be removed for easy cleaning. I have a lot of difficulty cleaning the microwave.

The speed oven is fantastic and we find that we use it for almost everything now. Works as a convection/microwave and traditional oven. It is fast, efficent, hot and quiet. The traditional oven is also excellent and I particularly like the telescoping handle on one of the racks. Would love that feature on all of the racks. Very pleased.

The product is overall good. The controls are the problem. The touch screens don't activate properly on the first touch. There is delay in response or not sensing the first touch at all. Even though, it is sold as a set, the top control panel and the bottom are different with confusing user interface

As a lifetime lover of Bosch and their appliances I am deeply disappointed in this oven and it's performance.
It takes 32 minutes to preheat to 350 and 20 minutes each 25 degree increment thereafter.
They replaced some parts and tested the oven out again prior to leaving (after it had already been preheated during the repair). Bosch claims it heated up to 300 correctly--despite not factoring in that the oven was already partially warmed while they were fixing it prior to their final test (so of course it's going to take less time if the oven has already been warmed previously)
Post repair, the oven still takes half an hour to heat up to 350. Upon contacting Bosch again, they say this is "normal" as the voltage in a condominium is lower than a home. As someone who has lived in condos their whole life with numerous Bosch ovens throughout my life--this is completely unnaceptable. I have NEVER had an oven take this long to heat up!
Stay far away from this oven.
I have purchased Bosch products my whole life and paid a premium for to their quality and excellent customer service. After this experience I'm not sure I would purchase another Bosch product when it comes time for me to do so.

I bought the Bosch 800 Series Combination Oven HBL8753UC and it has been great. This is my third Bosch purchase. My first Bosch expereince was with a new dishwasher that has been exceptional. Quite and effecient. My second, was a Bosch refrigerator. I am probably like most and do not cherish spending time looking and buying appliances but I must say the refrigerator is my favorite appliance. My Whirlpool ovens were 20 years old and completely went out. Knowing the expereince of my two other Bosch appliances, this was a no brainer. Plus, I really now have two ovens instead of the oven and microwave I had with my Whirlpool setup. Having a combination convection/microwave on the top and a convection/oven on the botttom has been a life saver.

I started doing research on combination ovens when my 15 year old double convection ovens sarted giving me problems. When the repairman told us we needed a $500 repair to get them working again, I decided to just replace them. I really wanted a combination oven, so after doing a ton of research and then going to look at my final choices, I decided on the 800 seriers combo. They are a little smaller than my previous ovens, but the installers did a wonderful job of fitting them and after using both of them for a bit now, I love them. The top convection/microwave is great for fast cooking and the bottom convection/oven is amazing. The negatives: theapp doesn't work with the top oven which is sad and the timers on both ovens are not loud enough. Unless you are standing right next to the microwave when it's done, you can't really here it. I did adjust the volume but it's not enough. The light in the top oven is not bright enough either but the bottom is great. All in all I would recommend these.

We bought this to decrease the appliances in the kitchen. Prior to this we had a breville toaster and oven and a microwave and oven combo. We needed a separate toaster and oven for smaller cooking and baking needs. With the new Bosch combo unit, we can do the convection related cooking in the upper/smaller unit, saving time and energy. It's been more than a month, and we are enjoying the unit. The Breville now sits in the basement storage.

This unit replaced a 15 year old double oven that no longer served the purpose. What a fantastic product. Installation was simple and it fit in the double oven cutout without needing any alteration. The Microwave portion works really well and is exactly the correct height for use. We really love the quick 30 second reheat button.
The oven is also fantastic. This oven maintains the exact heat that you set it for, no variation. You can rely on it to cook in the right amount of time and at the correct temperature.

Hearing that Bosch had a reputation for quality, we made the decision to increase our budget and purchase the HBL8752UCC combination wall oven and SGV68U53UC dishwasher. Regrettably, Bosch's unwillingness to stand behind its products, and seeming lack of concern about safety made this the only bad decision in our renovation, and has eroded our trust in what we'd hoped was a smart choice of brand.
Surprisingly, during our first and only use of the oven's self-clean cycle, the door glass shattered with bang, rendering the oven unusable. Although the 1-year warranty period on our oven has passed, our unique situation bears explanation. As our oven does not see much use, there was not any need to use the self-clean cycle until now. The fact that the failure of the glass occurred on this initial use of the self-clean points to a pre-existing manufacturing defect that only became apparent at the high temperatures of the self-clean cycle - which was only coincidentally outside the warranty period. As explained by an authorized technician, the defect may be in the glass, control system or even fan.
Disappointingly, despite explaining this simple logic to Bosch customer service, this quality and safety issue was simply dismissed on the basis our oven is no longer under warranty. Paradoxically, the Bosch Customer Service rep found it necessary to document the failure as a safety incident. And alarmingly, two authorized repair technicians have pointed out that we are lucky that the glass didn't shatter into the kitchen and injure someone.
Having engineering and business backgrounds, I appreciate that manufacturing defects do occur, and acknowledge the constraints of warranty coverage. However, I also recognize the value of customer support and confidence, and Bosch's unwillingness to acknowledge or even respond to the pre-existing defect and safety risk is disheartening. We can only conclude that customer support, quality and safety are not priorities for Bosch, as even partial consideration for this issue would demonstrate care, and prevent the loss of a customer and advocate.
