Not a very visibly aesthetic appliace

Fan is very loud, but probably normal as far as stove top fans go. My complaint is the lack of coverage the fan looks like it™€™s missing parts because you see all the insides of the appliance. Visible to anyone in the room are model numbers and the ruff interior there appears to be a ledge where a cover could be placed but when I contacted the company no cover exists and they ™€œ don™€™t care what it looks like up there™€.

Strain Relief for 1 1/4" knock out size

Product is very good for the price. It looks great, the venting is efficient, and the charcoal filters help isolate kitchen smells. The instructions, however, not so much. It says the unit can be installed in 10 minutes. No regular joe is getting this in under an hour. The unit calls for a strain relief for 1 1/4" Knock Out size for hood junction box (not included). Inexplicably, this part is carried by approximately one hardware store per state. Did I spend two hours trying to find it? You betcha! Does that part fit the unit? Ha Ha. No. Not even remotely. This unit needs a common 3/8" electrical clamp that fits perfectly in the housing. Hey GE, can you do us a favor and just include the part that costs 70 cents retail? I'd be willing to pay the extra dollar!

What an improvement! When we upgraded our island cooktop, we decided to replace our range hood as well. We initially purchased a GE model JVX5300SJSS, which is a fully-enclosed hood with 2 halogen lights. That turned out to be a nightmare, since replacement of just ONE of the lights would cost $45, and since we couldn't remove the actual bulb, a technician would need to be called (a $99 trip charge plus the cost of the bulb). Even though it was only a little over a year old, we went ahead and replaced the entire unit with the JVX3300SJSS - which uses a regular type A15 bulb. Since I do the marjority of my "messy" cooking on the gas grill located outside, I've only used the fan a few times. Works fine for my needs. But, since my other kitchen lights are a set of 4 overhead cans, I leave the light on the range hood illuminated often - especially at night. This was the issue with the first hood: replacement of the bulbs was extremely expensive; this one, however, uses a common size that I can purchase at the grocery store for a whopping $5.49 for a two-pack. Score! Super easy to replace the bulb and it does a great job lighting the cooking area on the island. I so wish I'd gone with this one first, as it was literally half the price of the other GE model we bought. Very happy with this one!

This range hood is about 1/16™€ wider than the model of 30 years ago. VERY tight fit, but on the bright side you won™€™t need an extra pair of hands to hold it in place while you screw it into place.

I've only just installed this hood, but I wish there was a medium fan setting or a slider rather than just Hi and Low. It is not as strong as my last one. The vent is further back and doesn't draw the moisture from the steaming pot on the front burner.

Disappointed in Hood Design The hood looks nice at first glance, but the design is disappointing. The bottom is completely open, exposing the product information tags, wiring, and inner components ™€" things that should be concealed. It gives the kitchen an unfinished look and takes away from what could have been a sleek, modern design.

very cheaply made. and the directions are awful, inaccurate and quite flawed. ... Stainless steel exaggerates fingerprints instead of hiding or minimizing them knockouts should be on both side, very difficult to install by yourself...needed a extra set of hands for everything. . all parts should be included instead of having to run around to the store to get the proper sized strain relief and wire nuts. A ductless theoretical 1 hour install turned into 1.5 days

SMHH™€¦.horrible exhaust. Cooked using an iron skillet pan! Smoke got so bad, three of smoke protector went off. The fan was on before I started to heat the pan up, but when I started to cook the smoke levels. GOT INSANE!! Yes the flip outside lifts up, so air is blow outwards!

The hood itself probably works fine. But it was very difficult to install. Also, it has a very dim light which is set in the wrong place, so that it only illuminates the front part of the stove. We also had to buy a power cord for it that no one told us about.

It has a good fan (2-speeds) that is good for drawing out heat/steam. The light (60 watt) gives plenty of light for cooking pans. My unit vents outside at the back, unfortunately it did not come with a baffle to stop it from blowing the hot air back into my kitchen from the hood vents on the top side. I will have to purchase a SS looking magnet (2™€x9™€) to block the vent. This will not be easy or cheap to come by.
