Inconsistent temperatures.

Unfortunately, I'm a renter and can't really do anything about this refrigerator or get a different one. But I have to confirm and echo what others here have said about the temperature inconsistency with this. I have had experiences where liquids in the fridge have started to crystallize and freeze at higher settings but then, when the temperature is lowered, things get alarmingly warm. To satisfy my own curiosity I bought some cheap fridge thermometers and sure enough, depending on when I have opened the door and how long it has opened temps have gotten into the red zone in the 40s. Thankfully I don't keep anything raw in the fridge anymore because I would be too concerned about pathogens but there really isn't anywhere else you put eggs and the freezer is only just so big, so there are limits in terms of how much you can freeze cheeses, breads, and other things you might normally keep in the fridge. I'm constantly switching back and forth between 4 and 5 and I'm always worried about the safety of the cooked leftovers I have in there. I thought maybe I was blocking the vents so I came to this website to find out which ones I needed to steer clear of and of course the manual is not helpful in that regard, either. As far as I can tell there are so many vents that if you want to avoid blocking all of them you might get a whole 2 cubic feet of usable space so something is clearly not designed very well here.

Although I have recently had this new refrigerator installed I am very happy with the spaces inside. I live alone and have a smaller amount of food, but the areas inside the refigerator are well defined and handle much more than I would normally buy. This includes the freezer spaces as well. I look forward to many years of eating pleasures thanks to this refrig.

I was glad to find a refrigerator small enough to fit the available space but big enough to hold plenty of food for a household of 2-3 adults. Also glad it has reversible hinges, and no water connection needed (no ice maker or water dispenser). This fulfills what I need, and at a fair price.

Cubic feet matter

Although this refrigerator cools and freezes well, it has nowhere the capacity of my old GE while the difference is only 1/12" in width. My old GE was still working after 26 years. It's hard to believe that only 1 1/2" in width would cause me to loose 1 cu. ft in the freezer and same in the refrigerator. I am really unhappy and struggling to cope with this diminished capacity. Even the crisper bins are much smaller. I'm just wondering how long it will last. Why change a good product when you had one.

This was our second try at a new refrigerator in 2025. This GE is visibly better made than the replaced Frigidaire. It is quieter and the door shuts firmly. It™€™s almost 17 cu.ft with well configured shelving fits perfectly in the rather tight space.

After 25 years, anew fridge

Dealer delivered the wrong fridge. The last GE gave up the ghost, would no longer defrost. I took it apart many times to no avail. The smallish 16.6 size fit my space. I did not want handles. This fridge had glass shelves instead of wire which I must admit was an improvement. The first fridge was $400, butter shelf had no door, door shelves not very sturdy. This fridge at $1100 had better storage, liked that you could easily see into the vegetable drawers. Quiet enough. So we kept it and the dealer threw in an extra shelf. We will see how long it lasts. Thank you dealer.

First one had to go back for not maintaining temperature. food in freezer melted and had to be thrown out. second one constantly runs; hate to see my electric bill! This Refrigerator will not stay in a stable position, moves forward every time door is opened. lowered the feet and it still slides forward.

Very nice refrigerator. A little louder than our previous one but love the energy efficiency. Would be nice to have some dividers for the freezer so the frozen items can be more neatly organized. Could use separate rack for ice cube trays. Like the textured surface. No fingerprints!

I downsized to this frig. Didn't need one any larger. It's just right in size, Lower door shelf will hold a 1 gal. size jug. Both door shelves plenty wide. NICE FEATURE. LED light, Energy Star. Nice sliding deli drawer. Love this frig! I got rid of a 18 cu ft in another make that still worked. AND this frig being the 2" more narrow is much better suited for my kitchen. Measure what you need.

It™€™s only been a month since it was installed so I can™€™t really speak to durability but so far I am pleased with this fridge. Despite its small size the thoughtfully designed interior holds as much or more than my old fridge. There are a number of convenient shelves on the door plus the main shelves provide plenty of room for easy food storage I particularly like the small drawer under the second shelf. It™€™s great for the small items that can wind up getting pushed to the rear. The shelf in the freezer is a thoughtful touch and helps prevent avalanches of frozen products that are precariously stacked. So far the fridge has kept things nice and cool the freezer is keeping frozen items frozen just as it should. LED Interior lighting keeps everything visible. Another plus, it didn™€™t smell too plasticy when it first arrived so there were no weird odors transferred to my food.

My old refrigerator was pretty crammed with food and I did throw out some things in preparation for my new refrigerator, but this appliance is much more spacious than the old one. As a cook and gardener who can get into some pretty extenssive cooking projects, fermenting foods, making cheese, etc, I know I am going to put that extra space to good use.

Recieved my new fridge recently. Was glad to see it had reached the right temp within 4 hours and I could put my food in it.. (was stored in cooler) The only issue I had was trying to get the glass shelves in. One is cut "off" and there should be metal all around the glass not just the front and back. Lots of room in freezer

Not cold enough

Unit might be defective. Initially, fridge section seemed to be the right temp but a few days after loading with groceries, seems to be not cold enough- like around 50™° F. I have dialed up the setting to max hoping it will eventually reach the proper temp. Freezer seems ok. Has better capacity than the previous unit.
