Does not recover like it should for 5500 watt elements. We had to turn it up to 140 degrees to be able to take 3 showers. Our 14 year old Reliance was set on 130 degrees and keep up with 3 showers. If you run the washer, one shower only. Probably will not purchase another one.

Replaced a 40 gal after 20 years. This 50 gal fit perfectly as a replacement. Hooked up the water lines / electrical service, and was up an running in HOT water in no time.

It was inconsistent with keeping the water at a regulated temperature. Our plumber had to replace both of the thermostats, and they informed me that we weren™™t the only customer complaining about this problem.

When we bought our house 20 years ago we purchased a GE residential hot water heater. We were SO very happy it lasted that long that I recently found another one online and purchased it and wouldn't you know 1 week after it was delivered the old one stopped working. It was very easy to install and I hope we will get another 20 years out of the new one. When I was growing up our neighbor was a GE repair man so I've always bought and had great luck with GE appliances.

We replace our 35 year old plus boiler heater with this water heater. I have no complaints so far with this heater, it™™s only been less than a week. We went from 180 degree hot water to 130 degree water. I™™m good with that temperature but we shall see in the winter time. Hopefully by then the wife will be use to it! I enjoy the aesthetics of this unit. The electric heat is so much cleaner than oil heat. I removed the old boiler system in two days. Insulated all plumbing and installed new insulation. The water pressure remains stable when operating other faucets in the house. We haven™™t ran out of hot water yet when everyone is taking a shower back to back, 50 gallons was a great choice.

My water is nice and warm, quickly, so I guess this Big Boy is doing the job! There is plenty of hot water, so the capacity must be right. Installation went well, quick & easy for the guys doing the job.

I'm disappointed with this water heater. Within days of install, the water heater began to leak. My installer came to repair the water heater, and several days later it began to leak again. The installer decided to replace the water heater with a new unit. Now, my water heater temperature is inconsistent. Sometimes the water is lukewarm, and other times it is extremely hot. I'm at a loss. My previous GE water heater was 19 years old and still working just fine, but I wanted to replace it as a preventative measure. Seems like the quality isn't there anymore :(

Had to turn it up to 135 degrees to get two showers it won™™t hold a steady temperature throughout a shower we need to add more hot water until done in the shower

I've only had this for a month, and it is the first time I've ever bought a water heater. The one I had to compare it to, was over 20 years old. That being said, this appliance has some big shoes to fill. It is more efficient than the one it replaced, just due to the age and the condition of my old one.

We have thermostat set higher than recommended setting. Manufacturer says 135 degrees. We have it at 150 degrees. Water is just hot enough for a shower. Can not get super hot water without raising above suggested setting. This is extremely concerning. Been going back and forth with seller to have it checked. Would not recommend.
