The PWD-X5 features an 8-inch subwoofer, amplifier and DSP in a self-contained unit. Measuring just 10 W x 13.5 H x 3.15 D, the PWD-X5 is small enough to be mounted under a seat, so it does not take up any usable storage space. The 8 subwoofer has a flat diaphragm and produces quality, low-end bass within its shallow cast-aluminum enclosure.
IMPRESSIVE BASS AND IMAGING EXPERIENCE The PWD-X5 s subwoofer increases the sound system s overall bass output and when the product is installed under the front seat, it brings the sound stage forward in the vehicle for the best bass and imaging experience. With 165-watts available to the subwoofer and 25-watts x 4 to the speakers, this all-in-one solution lets you create a truly enjoyable and customizable sound experience in just about any in-vehicle cabin space.
CONVENIENT SOUND TUNING VIA A SMARTPHONE APP Gone are the days when tuning a sound system was a tedious, time-consuming process. The PWD-X5 can wirelessly tune your sound system using Bluetooth® technology and the PWD-X5 smartphone app (available for free on the App Store® and Google Play™). If you prefer a wired connection through a PC, just use the included USB cable and the app on the Support section on www.alpine-usa.com . Either format allows you to assign inputs/outputs, crossovers, and time correction. Ten bands of equalization per channel can be set and viewed in one place, so that sound adjustments are made with real-time results. The included remote commander with rotary knob installs on the dashboard so you can quickly adjust volume, bass adjustment, mute and source selection.
FLEXIBILITY FOR OTHER USES The PWD-X5 can also be used in non-traditional ways thanks to the Bluetooth® streaming capabilities. In situations where the car radio cannot be replaced, such as in a classic car, music can be streamed to the PWD-X5 s Bluetooth® connection then played through the car s speakers while utilizing the PWD-X5 s bass and amplified power. If a head unit does not exist, such as on a motorcycle or a side-by-side, the music streamed from a smartphone to the PWD-X5 s Bluetooth® connection is used as the vehicle s music source.
